Looking for a fun group activity that you can do with your friends in Barcelona? As always, we’re here to provide you with a very cool suggestion: laser tag, an exciting game that allows you to be the hero of your own sci-fi adventure.

Created in the United States of America over 30 years ago, laser tag has seen a great boost in popularity in the last decade, in part due to being showcased on many American television shows. It’s no surprise, then, that there are currently plenty of places in Barcelona where you can play it. Before we list them for you, though, let us tell you a bit about the game’s basics.

Laser tag is pretty much a futuristic, painless and cleaner version of paintball – you don’t have to worry about being hit by projectiles in uncomfortable places and there’s no paint or any other substance involved. Instead, it’s played with… you guessed it, lasers.

Each player wears an infrared-sensitive target and is equipped with a laser gun. The goal is to eliminate enemy players by shooting your laser at their target. It can be played either indoors or outdoors and, for added fun, role-playing elements can be added to it  – a backstory, a specific scenario, characters, etc.
