Paddle Tennis in Barceloneta

Written by Garry Gallon

Paddle, just like tennis and squash, is one of the most fashionable racket sports right now. It’s not a sport that requires a high physical level, which is what makes it such a great sport for everyone. ShBarcelona searched the beach side of Barcelona and found two clubs in which you can practice paddle in Barceloneta.

This is a great, old club that began with the union between Club Natació Atlètic y el Club Natació Barceloneta. Situated at the foot of the beach, and with some truly privileged views of the Mediterranean, here the sport on offer is varied and for all ages. Anyone can play at this club, you don’t have to become a member. They have a paddle school for kids (from 6 to 16 years), adults and private classes (from age 17 up). The teaching style is fairly individualized, as there are very few students in each class.

You can find  Club Natació Atlètic Barceloneta in  Plaça del Mar.

This historic sports center in front of the sea is a reference point in Barcelona. It has a total of 24,000m2 to enjoy sports every day of the year, in a quite unusual environment. It stands out as having the only saltwater swimming pool in Barcelona, but let’s not forget their paddle courts and school.

They offer paddle courses for every age, from small kids to the elderly. The kids’ courses cover the winter term (same dates as the school term) and serve to teach you the basics of this sport, always from a very playful and child-friendly approach that caters to the needs of every pupil. If you are a member, you can enjoy all the installations on an unlimited schedule.

Club Natació Barcelona is located at Passeig de Joan de Borbó, 93.

Beyond Barceloneta

So, now you know there are two great places to try Paddle in Barceloneta, why not try broading your horizons and looking outside the area. For example, you could also look at ShBarcelona‘s article on Paddle Tennis in Sarria, and explore the Paddle tennis scene in other parts of the city!
