It’s normal that when you live in a city you, know your neighborhood like the back of your hand but don’t explore other parts as much. Go for a walk and get to know a new corner of the city, explore an unknown neighborhood or district, see the sights through the eyes of a tourist. Check out the website Conèixer Barcelona which has guided routes and paths to see interesting parts of the city that you might otherwise overlook.

Also, it’s easy to move around outside of the city limits by public transportation. You can jump on the Rodalies train and arrive in a new destination quickly, comfortably, and cheaply. Visit a new city in the surrounding area and be prepared to be blown away.

The great thing about Barcelona is that there is always something free to do on the weekend. There are many expositions, neighborhood festivals, or events that cost little to no money, every week. ShBarcelona is a great place to look for upcoming events in the city, especially the free ones. On Sundays, all public museums are free after 3 PM and all day the first Sunday of the month. Additionally, if you’re a student or under 26 you are eligible for discounts or free entrance to the museums any day of the week. Lastly, there are many free walking tours available through different companies that can offer you a great route and some more history about the Ciudad Condal.

Get some fresh air

If you and your partner like to get active then there are many opportunities to get up and moving. Barcelona has tons of parks and green spaces for you to take a walk through, go for a jog, or enjoy a nice picnic. Barcelona’s beaches are also impressive, offering you the opportunity to go for a swim and sunbathe in the hot summer months and enjoy water sports throughout the whole year. A great website to check for deals on outdoor adventure activities is Atrapalo, a site that offers discounts of sports and activities in Barcelona in addition to hotels, restaurants, and more. It’s not difficult to stay active and fit in Barcelona so get out there!
