Barcelona is home to several beautiful parks and natural spaces to enjoy in the city. And if you love the outdoors, you’re probably interested in finding out where you can see some of the city’s best-preserved nature. While most of the urban area has been developed in Barcelona, there are still a few places you can go to see centennial trees in the city center. Turó Park

In the center of the city, Turó Park & Gardens is an oasis of serenity perfect for a calm escape from the chaos of Barcelona. It’s also rich in biodiversity and home to many of Barcelona’s oldest trees. Inside the park, you’ll find trees such as oaks, magnolias, cedars, and palms. With a few centennial trees scattered throughout the park and a pond covered with beautiful water lilies, Turó Park is a must-see for nature lovers in Barcelona. Just off the busy Diagonal street, the gardens surrounding Pedralbes Palace are a hidden gem in the city. This small park is one of the most attractive in Barcelona and home to an impressive number of species for its size. There’s a beautiful centennial Himalayan cedar tree in the park along with plenty of hundred-year-old pines, bamboo, and laurels. Aside from nature, there are some lovely sculptures, fountains, and, of course, the Pedralbes Palace. The park is quiet, relaxing, and a great spot to stay a while and enjoy the calm surroundings.

Just outside of the Can Verdaguer Civic Center, you’ll find the tallest palm tree in Barcelona. This giant centennial tree reaches 27 meters tall and is 122 years old. Originally from North America, the palm tree is a Washingtonia robusta. While this particular tree isn’t located within a park or natural area, it’s an impressive sight to see nonetheless.
