The beach

Catch the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea at any one of Barcelona’s beaches is a great way to start the day and an experience that you won’t soon forget.

Since the coast faces the east, you can get a glimpse of the first rays peeking over the sea, and the sun shimmering over the waves.

Enjoy a refreshing morning swim or try some yoga poses to start your day off right.

The Collserola Tower is located near Tibidabo which overlooks the city and Collserola Natural Park, giving you a birds-eye-view of everything beneath.

You can ride the elevator up to the 10th floor of the tower, which is about  560 meters above sea level, and enjoy the spectacular view that this lookout point has to offer as the sun creeps over Barcelona.

This is also a great place to enjoy a peaceful morning as you can enjoy a nice stroll around the park afterward.

Port Vell is a fantastic place to visit, day or night, because of its lively atmosphere, fun bars and restaurants, and views of the Mediterranean.

You can make your way down La Rambla and see the sunrise over the port, or enjoy the view from the bridge that connects to Maremagnum.

Afterward, hop over to one of the many cafes in the area and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and breakfast.

Once a tower that helped to defend the city during the Spanish Civil War, now this site is the best place to go to get a 360 degree view of Barcelona like none other.

Free to the public and easily accessible by public transportation, The Bunkers will let you get an entire scope of the city as the sun slowly rises.

    • Hello Tjeerd,
The places mentioned in the blog article are too far apart to visit with one and the same sunrise. If you want to visit all these places at sunrise, you need at least 5 days in Barcelona 🙂
