Poblenou: Pizza Paradise

Written by Paula

Poblenou is one of the ten barrios of Barcelona, most famous for its peace and quiet and an abundance of new and creative businesses. But there is something else about Poblenou that not a lot of people know: it is a pizza paradise! With a good number of pizza parlors and Italian restaurants opening every day, Poblenou is the perfect place for those who are hankering for a good slice.

Here are some of the best places for pizza in Poblenou.

MammaMia

Located where the former cooperativa Ítaca used to be stand, this ristorante/trattoria is delightfully rustic, offering an authentic Italian experience, with an all-Italian staff who are there to advise you on the best way to enjoy your pizza. Their menu includes more than 30 different pizzas prepared on a wooden stove, including fried pizzas, gourmet pizzas, and white pizzas. If you are in the mood for pizza but your friend or partner feels like eating something else, don’t worry, because MammaMia also serves pasta, risotto, fish, and meat dishes.

Iaia Cristina

Iaia Cristina is a family-owned Italian restaurant that opened recently in Poblenou. The venue is beautifully decorated, with lots of color and great big windows that allow plenty of natural light. With a staff that is attentive and friendly, Iaia Cristina is a good choice for a nice, Italian meal, averaging 14€ per person.

This gorgeous restaurant offers the visitors an authentic Italian experience, with pizzas prepared with ingredients imported from Italy. They are located very close to the Glòries mall, where you can swing by to grab a take away pizza for as little as 6€, or stop for a nice full meal and enjoy the Chef’s Menu, for 14€ per person, or the Menú del Dia, which comes in 5 different options: the Menú Ejecutivo, which includes entrees, a pasta or pizza dish, dessert, bread and drink for 13,90€ per person; the Menú Express, which doesn’t include entrees or desserts, for 9,90€ per person; the Menú Light, which includes only an entree, dessert, drink and bread for 7,90€ per person; the Menú Piedra, which includes entrees, a meat dish, dessert, bread and drinks for 16,90€ per person; and the Menú Especialidad which includes Burrata Pugliese, coffee, bread and drinks for 11,90€ per person.

SiamoQua

Nice atmosphere, a wooden stove, delicious pizzas, a friendly staff and affordable prices make SiamoQua a popular choice among pizza lovers. So popular in fact that it may be hard to find a table during lunch time. Our advice: book your table ahead of time, over the phone, or try to beat the lunch rush by going earlier, around noon.
