Four amazing gluten free bakeries in Barcelona

Everyone experiences sweet cravings. However, when you are allergic to gluten, commonly known as Celiac or simply intolerant, your life isn’t made easier. Nonetheless, thanks to the popularity of gluten free diets, more options have become available. Indeed, over the years many gluten free bakeries have flourished all over Barcelona.

At ShBarcelona, we tested for you 4 of the gluten free bakeries in Barcelona.

Bee Cakes, gluten free bakery in Gràcia

Bee Cakes is a small bakery in Gràcia where you will find the most beautiful gluten free cakes of Barcelona. Beyond their cakes, they offer a range of cookies, croissants, muffins, cakes and seasonal products. They also offer delicious gluten free bread available every Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

If you have any questions, the friendly owner will gladly navigate you through the treats. We recommend you to reserve your goods in advance to ensure not to leave empty handed. Due to its popularity and high demand in certain days of the week, the owner recommends booking the bread in advance.

We tried their carrot cake as well as Christmas cookies and we added fresh raspberries, a real delight. Thus, we obviously recommend to try their gluten free carrot cake and red velvet cake. They not only are moist and flavourful but also very pretty and instagrammable. Both are the perfect combination between buttercream, cake layers and a glitch of freshness.

The plus of this bakery? The service you will receive is impeccable.

While gluten free products sometimes have a bad reputation due to their lack of taste, this bakery promises you mouth-watering products. We tried their cinnamon rolls, a real treat! From the very first bite you can feel the sugar melting on your tong and the fluffiness of the puff pastry finished off by a cinnamon flavour.

We suggest to try their red velvet cake. Each velvety layer is topped by an icy frosting of buttercream to experience the purest of indulgence.
