Barcelona has now become known for having some of the best nightlife in the whole of Europe. As a result of this many of the worlds top musicians choose to include at least one stop here as part of their tour schedules. Plus it does also offer some of the country’s local talent a chance to promote what they have on offer.
As with any other city you’ll find that seeing a concert in Barcelona isn’t so different from those you would see in say Madrid, London, Berlin or Paris. This is because there are plenty of venues where such can take place from huge arenas and concert halls to more intimate venues.
However the places where you tend to be able to see international stars includes Palau Sant Jordi, Pavello Olimpic de Badalona and not forgetting Camp Nou, which is home to the city’s football team FC Barcelona.
Throughout the coming months of September, October and November 2014 there are numerous festivals and concerts taking place.
The first big event of this time of the year in the city is the Hipnotik Festival that takes place on the 13th September at Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona. Then throughout the rest of the year other major music stars will be coming to Barcelona.
For example you’ll find at Palau Sant Jordi you’ll have the opportunity to see the likes of Kylie Minogue (October 14th), Pharrell Williams (October 1st), Lady Gaga (November 8th) Enrique Iglesias (November 13th), Elton John (December 6th).
Whilst at the Sant Jordi Club over the coming months you’ll have the chance to see stars such as Morrissey (October 10th) and Ed Sheeran (November 24th).
But these aren’t the only locations in the city where concerts are going to be taking place. Concerts will be taking place at Razzmatazz, Bikini, Barcelona Teatro Musical and Palau de la Música Catalana. This year venues like this will be hosting concerts by the likes of Accept (October 12th), The Boxer Rebellion (October 27th) and Marianne Faithful (December 9th).
Yes there are plenty of big named stars coming to Barcelona over the coming months, but there are plenty of other places that have a more intimate feel to them. These are the kinds of venues in the city where you have a chance to see some up and coming artists and such venues are located throughout the city.
The kinds of venues I would suggest you might want to visit if you really want to get a feel for the city’s own music scene then head to places like Luz De Gas, Tarantos, Jamboree, Harlem Jazz Club, Heliogabal and the London Bar. All of these offer venues that are much more intimate and allow you the chance to really relax and unwind whilst enjoying the music being played.
