Spanish wine is now gaining a reputation of being some of the best in the world today. As a result of this throughout the city of Barcelona several establishments now have opened that ensure that the best wines this country has to offer can be enjoyed.

The first establishment worth a visit once you have settled into your accommodation is “Bar a Vins de Moritz”. This is located at Ronda Sant Antoni and here you can enjoy by the glass some of the best wines not only from Spain but also from around the world.

The use of equipment that prevents the wine from oxidising ensures that the flavours are retained at all times. Certainly if you are connoisseur of wine than spending some time at this establishment located in Barcelona’s old town is a must.

WineWhilst at Bar a Vins de Moritz you have the opportunity to try numerous different wines (over 400) that come in at various prices. Owned by Xavier Ayala, and along with his sommelier Arnaud the aim of this establishment is to provide the general public with a wine and culinary experience that they would never thought they could have enjoyed.

Among the best wines to consider trying when visiting this establishment are the 2009 Flint Dagueneau Didier, the 2006 Les Greves 1er Cru, the 1998 L’Ermita or the 1985 Jaboulet La Chapelle.

The next establishment worth a visit during a stay in this amazing city is Monvinic. This particular one was set up by Sergi Ferrer-Salat and again like the previous establishment wants to ensure that you have the opportunity to enjoy some truly amazing wines without it breaking the bank. However the wines available here tend to come from wine regions and wineries that aren’t that well known. But they still ensure that the wines they do offer here are of the highest quality.

Finally no visit to Barcelona would be complete without going to Smokers Club located in the city’s Gothic Quarter when it comes to sampling amazing wines. This particular establishment is open throughout the year (7 days a week). Along with offering some of the best quality wines, puros and snuff also here you will find that they specialize in providing premium and super premium spirits.

Have you ever been to one of these establishments? Are there any others that you think I should have included?
