Top Language Schools in BCN

Spanish, one of the most beautiful and most studied languages by many all around the world.

For those of you who are about to embark on a journey to Barcelona to learn the beautiful language of Spanish, I highly recommend studying at a language school.

Learning-Spanish-Online-Vs.-Abroad-imagen-by-keepcalm-o-matic-257x300This city is becoming less Spanish and more Catalan, and independent of Spain. As such, people tend to speak a mix of Castellano (Spanish) and Catalan (language of the region of Catalonia) around this city.

The best way to learn Spanish in this city is not on the street, but rather in one of the Cervantes Institute accredited language schools. There is a list of many language schools throughout the city, some good, some not so good, however if you come from the EU, you don’t have to worry about residency and getting a student visa. If you are not from the EU, and you want to stay for an extended period of time in Barcelona, the Cervantes accredited language schools permit a student visa and temporary residency here in Barcelona.

Taking classes in a language school was the first step in creating my new life here in Barcelona, making friends both seasonal and permanent.

Speakeasy Language School

Located between Plaza Universitat and Plaza Catalunya, this is a language school I can actually vouch for. I went to this school, and can say that the teachers invest wholeheartedly in their students. They not only teach colloquial Spanish words and phrases, but also they get to know you as individuals, challenging you to progress, and becoming your first friends in the city. The classes are small and you receive personal attention from your professors. Apart from classes, there are extracurricular activities that enhance your Barcelona experience and teach you about the culture in the city. Ronda de la Universitat, 7, 08007

Ole Language School

This language school does not offer the latest and greatest when it comes to facilities, but why attend language courses if not for the teachers? The professors at this language school are enthusiastic, the classes are small and the course material is guaranteed to better your Spanish in no time. Av. de Mistral, 14, Local 6, 08015

Camino Language School

downloadCamino”, which in Spanish means the path, is a great place to start when trying to learn this language. The school is located in a tranquil spot, with efficient teachers who accurately gage the student’s levels of Spanish and place them in classes accordingly. This school has some of the best facilities, wifi, and even terraces for the students to drink coffee and chat during breaks. Apart from group language courses, there are business and private courses for those who have more specific goals for learning or bettering the language. C/Comte d’Urgell 78
