Noak Room: Scandinavian vintage treasures

Written by David

Are you passionate about vintage furniture? Do you love Scandinavian designs from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s? Noak Room is the place for you, full of hidden vintage treasures selected with exquisite taste. And everthing at a reasonable price.

The shop

noak_room2Martin Noaksson and Sara Salas own and run this charming showroom in the lively area of Poblenou. Located in an old workshop, with high ceilings, the space is really welcoming and invites you to discover the small treasures they display. Martin and Sara travel frequently to Scandinavia (especially Sweden) to fill the shop with a selection of vintage items. From time to time they host re-openings and small parties to present the new lineup. They also participate in different events in Poblenou like the Open Night or the popular vintage market Palo Alto, that also take place in the area. The shop is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 11 to 15 and from 17 to 20. If you want to learn more, visit their website, or just have a look at the facebook and instagram profiles, although the best thing to do is to pass by the shop, walk around and get inspiration among beautiful sideboards, chairs and lamps. If you’re looking for something specific, Sara and Martin will be glad to hear from you and assist you. If you want to be updated with events and re-openings they host, just tell them to add you to their mailing list or visit the space, they’re always welcoming and friendly!noak_room3

What can I find?

You can find furniture and decor objects from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Tables, chairs, lamps, stools, sofas, carpets, armchairs…They select the things they love, and combine famous pieces (Tapiovaara chairs or String shelves, for example) with anonymous vintage design items, that will also fill your house with vintage charm and personality at a lower cost. And everything following the principles of Nordic design: functionality, beauty and simplicity.

To get there, the nearest metro stop is Llacuna (L4 – yellow line), really close to the shop. Other options are to get off at Ca l’Aranyó on the tram (T4) or get off at Glòries (L1 – red line) and walk approximately 10 minutes.

Remember ShBarcelona offers rentals in different areas of Barcelona, including Poblenou and the Sant Martí area.
