Mortiz is a brand of Spanish beer that was created in 1856 by Louis Moritz Trautmann, a French man who started to produce his own beer in the Raval neighborhood. Later, Trautmann bought Joan Maurer’s factory, becoming one of the most important beer producers in Barcelona.
Mortiz beers have received a number of awards along the ages, and are today one of the most popular Catalan beers.
Each year Mortiz organizes an event called Urban Picnic, in which 50 people get together on bikes to ride around Barcelona. Each time, the ride ends in a different, special location, where a picnic takes place.
Anyone who has a bicycle and a helmet can join, but should buy their tickets with time to spare, since places are limited.

Urban Picnic events
There are 4 Urban Picnic events per year. This year’s first picnic took place on July 11th at Vallvidrera. The next dates are September 5th at Collserola, October 3rd at Montjuïc, and November 7th with a surprise destination.
Each route will start at 11:30 am at Fabrica Moritz Barcelona at Ronda Sant Antoni, number 41. The final destination will be reached around 1 pm, when the picnic will start.
The price of this activity is 20€, which includes the guided tour and the picnic. Participants will receive a vegetarian sandwich with roasted eggplant, mayonnaise, fresh cheese and spinach, and for dessert, a piece of fruit. There will be free Aigua de Moritz for everyone, a non-alcoholic beer created with mineral water from Font d’Or del Montseny.
