Barcelona is the city to visit in Europe if you are a fan of music festivals, from Jazz to Rock, Pop, House and Trance, you will find an annual music festival that caters to your musical taste. In this article, ShBarcelona will tell you about one of the most recent arrivals to the music fest scene: Loveland.
A festival with a 20 year history in Holland, Loveland is going abroad for the first time last year in our very own Barcelona.
For two days in June (17 and 18), this electronic festival will add to the good vibes (and people) brought to the city by Sónar Barcelona 2016, which happens at the same time.

Wait… it happens at the same time as Sónar?
Yes! This is because Sónar and Loveland aren’t competitors, but instead part of the same brotherhood. Both festivals have the objective of celebrating and advancing digital culture and Loveland Barcelona is, in fact, part of Sónar’s plan to do just that.
Loveland will be part of Off Sónar 2016 (also called Off Week), which is a parallel schedule of events and activities. This way, dance music fans are offered a lot of alternatives and Barcelona becomes the de facto epicenter of electronic creativity. For an entire weekend, tourists and digital creatives from all over the world visit the city, dance a lot, meet kindred spirits and most of all have a lot of fun. Call it digital culture pilgrimage, if you will – from June 17 to 19, all beats lead to Barcelona.
The first day of Loveland Barcelona is going to be hosted by Swedish techno label Drumcode, with owner Adam Beyer himself doing the honors. It will feature artists such as Luigi Madonna, Pan-Pop, Sam Paganini, Bart Skils, Onno, along with many other established and up-and-coming digital musicians.
On June 18, it’s time for the third edition of Loveland Live, with performances by live-only acts such as Henrik Schwarz, KiNK, Audion, Redshape, Matador, Secret Cinema, Surgeon and many others. Make sure to check the full line-up for both days.

The first edition of Loveland Barcelona will take place at the beautiful Port Forum, an outdoor venue by the marina, surrounded by palm trees and with a breathtaking view over the sea.
Public transportation will easily lead you from the city center to the concerts area. The closest metro station to the festival is Maresme/Forum (L4).
You can buy your tickets at the official website for Loveland Barcelona. Remember that the sooner you get them, the cheaper they will be. Don’t waste time and start planning your fantastic dance music weekend right away. There will be a lot of places to go, a lot of things to see, a lot of people to meet and loads of awesome music to dance to. Will you just sit around while Barcelona is dancing?
