Life on the lane: go bowling in Barcelona

Written by Samuel

Although bowling may be more readily associated with children’s parties and elderly men with expanding waistlines, it is in fact, a great way to spend a fun couple of hours with friends. Bowling is extremely popular in the United States of America, where alleys are found everywhere. Europe has also adopted this activity, which gained a lot of popularity in Spain. There are a number of places where you can go for a game here in Barcelona, and enjoy showing off your amazing bowling skills or practice not letting your ball roll onto the gutter and trying to actually hit some pins.

Located next to a number of universities and the famous Camp Nou, Bowling Pedralbes offers not only bowling lanes but also has a bar/restaurant area, several pool tables, and a mini amusement park, making it a great place to spend an extended evening. Prices can be found on their official website, starting at 3€ per game, going all the way up to 6,20€ per game, depending on which day of the week and time of day you choose to play. There is also a 1.20€ charge for shoe hire, which is mandatory.

Located in the area of Sant Vicenç dels Horts, near El Llobregat river, Baix Bowling offers you one game for 4.50€, two games for 7€, and three games for 9€. Of course, if you choose to play during the weekend, on a holiday or on a night right before a holiday, prices are a little bit higher, costing 6.50€ for one game, 10€ for two games, and 13€ for three games. The best day of the week to go bowling at this location is Wednesday, which they have dubbed “bowling day“, in which one game costs 3€, two games cost 5,50€, and three games cost 7.50€. Unlike the other bowling alleys we mention in this list, Baix Bowling does not charge a separate fee for the renting of bowling shoes. They also offer a promotion called “Cine + Bowling” in which you can buy a pack that grants you access to the La Vallet movie theater, as well as popcorn, a bowling match, and bowling shoes rental. This pack costs 8€ from Monday to Thursday and 10.50€ on the other days of the week.
