Barcelona’s Best Florists

Barcelona's Best Florists
Written by Sophia

With three great rain showers shaking off the very last of the leaves in Barcelona, we think it’s safe to say winter is really here. It’s around now that we are beginning to miss that lush, green energy of summertime.

There’s nothing quite like a new bouquet or lemon tree to shake us out of the winter blues. Here are some of Barcelona’s very best florists to visit, whether you’re looking to share the beauty of some farm-fresh flowers with your special someone, or simply a new green friend to brighten up your piso:

Navarro Floristeria

Barcelona’s most impressive floristeria is, Cactihands down, Navarro. The sidewalk overflows with a fantastic array of plants, from tropical flora to classic red roses. Navarro also has a breathtaking variety of bonsai trees, suitable for beginners and pros alike. When visiting Navarro, just remember you may want to bring a friend; it’s not often you can control yourself to leave with just one plant.

The best part? It’s open 24 hours. You know, for that moment at 3 am you realize you need a cactus ASAP.

Vendors on La Rambla

Once a river, La Rambla is now one of Barcelona’s most iconic touristic avenues. Stretching from Plaça Catalunya to the boardwalk, La Rambla is lined with restaurants, gold-painted mimes, and—you guessed it—flowers! The eight floral shops on La Rambla are owned byFlorist some of the most qualified florists in the country, many of them having learned their craft from the internationally renowned Escola d’Art Floral I Paisatgisme.

When plant shopping on La Rambla, be sure to grab yourself a hyacinth bulb, and a glass planting jar (starting at €2). Simply fill your jar up with water, place the bulb on top, and wait for a beautiful, fragrant flower to blossom! They are incredibly low-maintenance, and add a lovely burst of living color to any room.

La Torreta

PeoniesLocated in the heart of Poblenou, La Toretta has held its ground as the area’s best floristeria for 35 years. Its founder, Emilia Sorribas, who has also been trained in Catalunya’s Escola d’Art Floral, is clearly a master of the craft. Floral arrangements found at La Toretta, both synthetic and fresh, are a delightful sight to behold. La Torreta is the best place to find that perfect table centerpiece, or to assist you with sending that special message with flowers. If you’re looking for a floral work of art, or just feel inspired to visit a small botanical haven in Barcelona, look no further than La Torreta.
