For those of you who are not familiar with them, tote bags (also known as totes) are large bags with two parallel handles. The most common totes are the casual totes, usually made out of cotton or canvas. They started becoming popular as a replacement for plastic bags, for people who are trying to do their shopping in a more environmentally-friendly way.

There are plenty of stores where you can buy your own tote bag in Barcelona. Here are a few of them.

Vaho

Founded in 2001, Vaho is a brand that creates colorful, original bags made out of discarded materials. At Vaho you can find purses, briefcases, wallets, backpacks tote bags, made out of items like old posters and seat belts.

You can find Vaho at Carrer de Ferran, 43 and Carrer del Bonsuccés, 13.

Oslo Barcelona

Oslo Barcelona is an awesome association of artists and artisans located in the neighborhood of Gràcia, where they showcase and sell their art without any middlemen, which gives them the opportunity to offer accessible and fair prices. At Oslo you can find anything from clothing and jewelry to furniture and toys. Olso sells a number of tote bags with nice prints like little green clouds, Barcelona-related patterns and more.

Olso is located at Carrer del Torrent de l’Olla, 164.

Bag-Apart

If you are a Wes Anderson fan, you need to pay a visit to browse Bag-Apart’s official website! This super cool brand sells a collection of tote bags with scenes and characters created by the director, like Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Royal Tenenbaums, The life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Moonrise Kingdom, and characters from other iconic movies and TV shows like Twin Peaks, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, and Amélie.

Magnesia

Magnesia is a charming little store that sells a variety of unique items. There you can find illustrations by talented local artists, delightful notebooks, beautiful jewelry, and other items like bags, wallets, soap, greeting cards, and even toys. When you enter the store, take a peek to the right. You will find a variety of tote bags with cool black and white designs and colorful patterns.

Tiger

Tiger is a Danish store that sells a little bit of everything. There are toys, decoration items, funny gadgets and even food. Tiger usually has really nice tote bags with cute and amusing designs, that can be purchased for as little as 2€!
