Cosmo cafe & galería de arte
Located on the charming tree-lined street of Carrer d’Enric Granados in Barcelona’s well-to-do district of La Dreta de l’Eixample, Cosmo is the perfect place to get your creative juices flowing.
Whilst it doesn’t have Wifi, it more than makes up for this with its relaxed atmosphere, contemporary and open space and extensive selection of food and drinks.
You can enjoy a wholesome salad or satisfying sandwich for around €6, and the portions are super generous too! If you’re not a big coffee drinker, they also have a fabulous selection of freshly squeezed juices to give your brain a real boost.
So, if you fancy spending the afternoon tapping away on your laptop in an inviting arty environment, why not pay Cosmo a visit? Oh, and be sure to try their moist and crumbly carrot cake when writer’s block strikes – it won’t disappoint!
Whilst the Federal cafe only opened its doors in March 2015, it has quickly established itself as a buzzing café and popular brunch spot in the city.
The location is ideal as the café is tucked away on Passatge de la Pau in Gotic, in a quiet square just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Las Ramblas. It’s a huge space with high ceilings, large windows and a central bar/ kitchen covered in bricks, creating a chic and laid back vibe.
The wifi is quick, the staff are welcoming and friendly and the coffee is delightful. Food-wise, it has lots to offer – from a plethora of egg dishes to burgers and salads. It’s also ideal for the health-conscious foodie because they serve an almond milk cappuccino and a veggie-filled green smoothie as a mid-work pick-me-ups.
Federal Cafe is the perfect place to spend a few hours while you work (and eat your way through their tempting menu). What’s more, there are never any disapproving stares from members of staff after not having ordered anything for an hour or two.
If you need a break, grab a seat by the window – it’s a prime people watching spot!

One of our absolute favourite working spots is Caravelle: a trendy café, with delicious coffee (their beans are sourced from the renowned roasters Nomad), super fast and reliable wifi and friendly staff.
Once again, the location is very central, Caravelle is just a stone’s throw from Plaza Catalunya, on Carrer del Pintor Fortuny.
The little spot is airy and cheerful, has gorgeous and healthy food, plenty of power outlets and motivational background music. Whilst the little café is always buzzing with brunch-goers and mums with kids alike, it’s never loud enough to distract.
It even has its own Galactic Pale Ale, brewed with the Catalan farmhouse brewery Art Cerversers, for when the creative juices are in need of a nudge.
Its biggest draw comes from its feel-good atmosphere. If you’re in the Raval district, be sure to pay Caravelle a visit – you won’t be disappointed.
