Hot, hot, hot! That is how Mas coll Tort (La Garrotxa) will be from the 9th to the 11th of September, with the special vintage weekend “Swing a la Brasa, an event organized by Spank the Baby, a Swing music dance school from Barcelona.

Gather your friends and head on to the campsite. You’ll spend the weekend dancing, enjoying outdoor barbecues and going for a swim in the local swimming pool.

Too Darn Hot

Swing a la Brasa had its first edition in 2014, the second in 2015 and will now celebrate its fifth. That’s right, the fifth. From 2015 to 2016 the event had two additional editions, which proves its tremendous success.

Tickets to the event go from 60€ to 80€, depending on the amount of people who participate. The price includes the stay, meals, workshops and all the related activities.

During your free time, you can go for a walk and explore Garrotxa’s Natural Park or just sit around playing music and singing with other people. It is also common to have some members put on improvised shows, which provide the perfect opportunity for the shy members of the group to get involved.

For this edition, Spank the Baby invited a special couple to teach the participants: Arnas Razgūnas and Egle Nemickaitė, two recognized dancers from Lithuania. Concerts with Swing bands such as Storyville Jazzband, The Others and The Big Easies are also part of the program.

By the time this edition of “Swing a la Brasa” happens, Summer will be almost over. And what better way to say goodbye to this beloved season of the year than to spend a fantastic weekend with friends and indulging in copious amounts of Swing dancing.
