Yoga is more than exercise, it’s a lifestyle. In Barcelona yoga is in the air, as you’ll see almost any day of the week down at the Ciutadella park! Barcelona has a vast and varied yoga community offering classes, shows, conferences and various other opportunities to educate, participate and connect. Whether you are a newbie interested in getting involved, to an experienced yogi, a not-to-be-missed event is the Barcelona Yoga Conference, taking place from the 2-6 July.
One of the biggest Yoga events in Europe, the BYC is a five day celebration of yoga, music and dance, open to people of all ages and backgrounds, whatever your experience. The organisers, a team of family and close collobators, put their heart and soul into delivering a superbly organised, rich and harmonious event. With top yoga experts, musicians and dancers from all over the world attending, this is a wonderfully dynamic platform from which to learn, try, discover and transform.
What is it?
The BYC is a unique opportunity to participate in a vast array of activities related to yoga and general wellbeing, such as Kirtans (Kirtana being a form of chanting, if you didn’t know), guided meditations, asana practice, therapeutic workshops and much, much more. All this under the guidance of over 50 internationally renowned teachers and facilitators.
The event includes:
• A program of free events all day every day
• 20 different styles of yoga
• 50 internationally recognised teachers and musical artists
• 108 scholarships
• 40 Stands
• BYC kids
As said, yoga should be treated as a lifestyle rather than a form of exercise. It is a lifestyle of wellbeing, harmony and creativity. The BYC truly reflects this with its diverse array of things on offer. Here you will find over 40 stands offering, among other things, Yoga and wellbeing products, accessories, clothing and essential oils. A fantastic selection of the most delicious and healthy vegan and vegetarian food options in Barcelona will also be converging at the event. More information on activities and stands can be found on the BYC website.
