Go Car: A fun new way to visit Barcelona

Go Car: A fun new way to visit Barcelona
Written by Paula

If you are coming to visit Barcelona for the first time, there is a fun, new way to visit the city: using a Go Car!

Go Cars are small-sized, 3 wheeled vehicles with a 499cc size scooter engine, fit for driving around the city with a partner or a friend.

gocar barcelonaComplete with GPS, this two-seat ride is a great option for those who are not crazy about walking, but would still like to see all the sights.

The Go Car concept was created by Nathan Withrington and Alasdair Clements, who launched their first Go Car tour service in 2004, in San Francisco, USA.

The routes take the tourists around the city, passing by all the major monuments and sights. Each car comes with an audio file that offers informative comments about certain points in the tour. This audio file is connected to the GPS, which has trigger points along the routes so it can offer the comments at exactly the right time.

GoCar became such a success, the business expanded to Europe, reaching Barcelona in 2008. Today, GoCar tours are ranked high on several top things to in Barcelona lists.
