Barcelona with kids

Go for an adventure at Barcelona’s Bosc Urbà

Written by Miguel

Parents today, in Barcelona or in any other city in the world, face several problems when it comes to raising their children. First in the list of concerns of most mothers and fathers is the lack of quality time they spend with their offspring. Working demanding jobs, cooking meals, cleaning the house and doing all the other tasks necessary to our daily routines leaves little time for both kids and adults to just enjoy each other’s company.

Another issue that concerns Moms and Dads is how little physical activity their kids get these days. With all the leisure technology available today, it’s easy to compensate for our lack of availability by showering them with video games and other digital-age distractions.

If you live in Barcelona, though, there’s a two-for-one solution to these problems – Bosc Urbà, which translates to English as “urban forest”, is an amusement park that guarantees a fun time for both children and adults. Bringing nature and adventure to a modern city environment, it is the perfect escape from the tight Monday-to-Friday schedule and a great way to stimulate the interest of your kids in physical activities.

Activities

This dynamic playground offers more than 50 attractions for adventurers of all ages. Activities are divided in colour-coded circuits:

Orange (9€) – With a low level of difficulty, this circuit is recommended for children below 9 (and starting at 3). It includes zip lines, rope swings, monkey bridges and 11 other activities that will challenge your child’s agility – and don’t worry, you can be by their side the whole time.

Blue (Starting at 15€) – This medium-difficulty course is meant to be enjoyed together by children above 8 and their parents – but of course, nothing’s stopping you from doing it if you’re an adult without kids. It includes 19 different attractions, such as Tibetan bridges and longer zip lines, and it all happens 4 metres above the ground.

Red (Starting at 15€) – A high-adrenaline circuit for adults and kids over 12, its list of 20 challenges includes bungee jumping and more daring versions of activities featured in other circuits.

Bosc Urbà also offers another unique activity – riding an electric unicycle, which is a great choice if you’re tired from all the action and just want to slide around, with minimal effort, enjoying the park’s beautiful view of the sea.
