Fun in the Sun – Barcelona Water Parks

As the temperatures rise in Barcelona then of course finding somewhere nice to be able to cool off is great. Certainly if you are intending to spend any time visiting this city with children but don’t want to head to the coast then a visit to one of the many water parks will provide fun for all the family.

WaterworldSpending a day at a water park can prove to be a much attractive option than spending it on the beach. Whilst being as equally refreshing, it also provides you with something completely different. One of the most well known of these parks in all of Barcelona (Lloret de Mar) is Waterworld. Along with numerous slides there are various free fall type areas, which can elicit some very strong emotions from you. However if you would prefer to just relax and unwind then spend time by the lake on in one of the many hot tubs located within the park.

Waterworld is situated on Calle Vidreres and is open from late May until early September. On their website not only will you find information about when they are open and entrance costs, you’ll also find directions of how to get there.

The next park you may want to consider visiting located in the Bay of Roses is Aquabrava. This is one of the oldest water parks in Barcelona and has the largest wave pool in Europe. However like Waterworld here are several spas and Jacuzzis that parents can relax in whilst their children enjoy the rest of what is on offer. Certainly for the younger members of your group there are numerous electrifying slides and falls that will keep them amused throughout the day. This particular water park opens the middle of March and closes late in October, further increasing your fun.

Finally we come to Aquadiver, which is situated in Platja d’Aro. This actual park is more suitable for older children, because the slope of the slides and falls is much greater. This may be the smallest of all the water parks in Barcelona but is the ideal one for the thrill seekers among you.

AquadiverAlthough it has plenty of areas where you can enjoy a picnic, unlike the other water parks mentioned here this one allows you to purchase tickets allowing you access to it for just half the day, so if you want to return to your apartment or hotel to eat you can do so. Unfortunately unlike the other parks mentioned this one is only open from June until September. To learn more about what this park has to offer we highly recommend you visit their website.
