Many big events take place in Barcelona, but until recently, a really big fashion event was not one of them. What is certain is that in recent years, Barcelona has put its energy in everything related to creativity, and fashion is one of the disciplines that requires this feature. Barcelona Fashion Week is the most important fashion related event held in the Catalan capital and it has been organized in Barcelona for almost 40 years, although with more focus since 2001, with the Gaudí catwalk. This week full of fashion in Barcelona is one of the most important fashion events, that also take place in the most important cities around the world. At these fashion events, the designers, mostly related to the fashion industry of each country, exhibit their autumn-winter and spring-summer collections. Generally, these events are held every year from January to March and they have become a reference to mark what is going to be in fashion next season. The event will introduce the models and new trends, that will mark the collections of all big brands such as the Inditex group stores, Mango, Benetton, H & M or any other brand that we love to wear. In the fashion week of Barcelona, now called 080 Barcelona Fashion, you can see the collections of important designers and brands, among many others, such as: Sita Mur, Custo, Antonio Miró, Polite, Agnes Sunyer, Umit Benan, Little Creative Factory, Txell Miras, Miriam Ponsa or Chulaap.

The important part of the 080 Barcelona Fashion event is, not only to enjoy the collections of the best local designers, but also to reward talent in the fashion industry. As in recent editions, the 080 awards aim to reward new talent in order to encourage and motivate new designers. Therefore, in the 23rd edition that begins now, there will be two awards: the National Award from the Generalitat de Catalunya for New Design at 080 Barcelona Fashion and the National Award from the Generalitat de Catalunya for the Best Collection at 080 Barcelona Fashion. In addition, there is the MODACC Award for export companies. The winner of the National Award from the Generalitat de Catalunya for New Design at 080 Barcelona Fashion, will earn a large sum in cash of 15,000 euros, and will present its next collection in the following edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion. In addition to all this, a sample of its collection will be part of the material exhibited at the Museu Tèxtil i d’Indumentària de Catalunya. The winner of the National Award from the Generalitat de Catalunya for the Best Collection at 080 Barcelona Fashion will be able to participate directly in the June 2019 edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion for free. In both categories, the winner will be chosen by a professional jury that will assess the design, creativity, quality and commercial potential. 080 Barcelona Fashion will be held in 2019 from February 4th to 7th in the Recinto Modernista de Sant Pau, on Carrer Sant Antoni María Claret, 167 in Barcelona.
