The FIA Formula One World Championship (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) is the most prestigious championship in the world of motorsport. The explanation is very simple. The races are called Grand Prix and the Formula One World Championship is the annual competition that takes place. The races generally take place on race circuits, although street circuits or routes outside large cities are also being used. The cars in which drivers  compete are single-seaters, and each team develops the most cutting-edge technology with the help of their engineers, but always within FIA’s technical regulations. Some of these technological improvements have been implemented in commercial vehicles, as is the case with disc brakes. The beginning of the modern Formula One goes back to the year 1950, when teams like Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Maserati participated. Some of these teams still continue to race and others have been merged over the years, like McLaren, Williams, Red Bull, Renault and Mercedes. (The latter by the way has a great track record.) Signing and renewing contracts must be handled 2 or 3 races before the end of each season. An interesting fact is that Formula One drivers need a FIA super licence to be able to enter the competition, which is directly related to their results in previous class competitions.
