Play Padel in Poblenou

Written by Miguel

Padel (or paddle, as it is known in the US and Canada) is undoubtedly one of the most popular racquet sports today, and it’s easy to understand why – anyone can practice it, as it doesn’t require a great level of physical fitness. An outdoor sport, it’s a great choice for those looking to do some exercise and stay in shape without being confined to the walls of a gym. If you’re staying in Barcelona and looking to start playing padel, you’re in luck – there are plenty of clubs and schools for you to choose from in the capital of Catalonia. We found three in the neighbourhood of Poblenou alone:

With a 6000 m2 surface containing three paddle courts, four tennis clay courts, three tennis grass courts and also a cafeteria-restaurant, Club Olímpia’s are possibly the most comprehensive municipal sports facilities in the heart of Poblenou. Courts and materials are free to use for club members, while non-members must pay a rental fee. That’s just one advantage of being a member – it also allows you to participate in leagues, as well as benefit from discounts in clothing, accessories and various services.

If you’re just starting to play padel and would like to improve your game, this is a great place – the club offers padel classes for both children and adults, as well as private lessons with expert coaches.

Address: Carrer del Perú, 215.

So, join the classes that fit you best and start practicing hard for some fun competition – Indoor Pádel also conducts tournaments regularly.

Located by the beach and near Barcelona’s Olympic Port, Nova Icària’s 7000 m2 facilities include seven padel courts. A club that is also a favourite amongst fans of jogging and beach volleyball, it offers many advantages to its members, such as cheaper prices for both classes and court rentals, medical examinations and free access to the water areas, saunas and spas. As a non-member, you’ll be able to rent the padel courts but won’t have access to any of the other facilities.

They promote padel tournaments and leagues, so if you’re itching to compete, this is another circuit where you can hone your craft and try to bring home a trophy. If the only thing stopping you from grabbing those wins is the need for better equipment and accessories, don’t worry – CEM Nova Icària also has a store where you can buy all the latest in padel gear.

Address: Avinguda Icària, 167.

There you go – that’s all you need to know to start playing padel in Poblenou. Are you going to join one of these clubs? Will you enroll in some classes to learn the sport or perfect your game? Let us know using the comment box below. Have fun playing sports in Barcelona!
