If you are planning on going on a diet you better start it only after your visit to Barcelona. The city has such an amazing and diversified gastronomic offer that it would be a shame to not be able to enjoy it fully. Food Lovers Company was created by local foodies Nuria and Margherita, from Spain and Italy, who grew up in households that taught them to love gastronomy. Together with a third guide, Aleix, they offer visitors the opportunity to experience the real Spanish and Catalan culinary culture while also exploring the Old Town or Ciutat Vella.

What are the tours like?

The trio of guides at Food Lovers Company has a very selective palate, which means they will only take visitors to venues serving the best dishes, prepared with the freshest local ingredients.

The tours last approximately four hours though they can last longer, depending on the pace and the mood of each group. The tours will take visitors to four different venues which include bars, wine bars and restaurants. In each of the establishments, the visitors will have the opportunity to taste a number of different tapas and dishes, such as Iberian ham and charcuterie, prawns, esqueixada (codfish salad), stewed cuttlefish, txistorra (basque red pepper sausage), judias de Santa Pau (Santa Pau beans), pan con tomate (toasted bread with tomato puree), traditional dessert, and much more. There will also be drinks available, like beer, wine or vermouth.

The tour is priced at 125€ per person, which includes all of the food and beverages. A deposit of 45€ per person is requested upon booking to guarantee a spot on the tour.

The tours are given in English and must have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 8 people.

The company offers morning and evening tours from Monday to Saturday. While the tours are very similar, there is usually a wider range of sea products available in the morning tours.

Private tours

For those who want a more personalized experience, there is the possibility of booking a private tour. These tours can be given in English, Spanish, French or Italian and they take place only on Sunday mornings.

The price of the private tours depends on the number of people who will participate, so the best way to get an estimate is to contact the company directly.
