Part of the Ohla Boutique Hotels group, which has a second hotel, Ohla Eixample, in Carrer Còrsega 289, Ohla Barcelona occupies a building of neo-classical inspiration that once housed the very first department store in the city. Today, the hotel’s exterior is decorated with a collection of eyeballs created by the Catalan artist Frederic Amat, also famous for his paintings and his scenography work.

A five-star venue

Ohla Barcelona is a beautiful five-star hotel that offers all of the luxuries you could expect from an establishment of such high ranking.

Besides the beautiful rooms and suites, the hotel has three gastronomic spaces that can be enjoyed by both the guests and visitors. La Plassohla is a street-level bar that serves exquisite meals, tapas and other light snacks. The Ohla Boutique Bar now rebranded as vistro49 wine and cocktail bar is famous for its expertly prepared cocktails, mixed by an award-winning barman. But the jewel in the crown is really the Caels Romain Fornell restaurant, a Michelin-star winner, directed by acclaimed chef Romain Fornell.

During their leisure time, guests can sunbathe by the pool, enjoying inspiring views over Barcelona, exercise by going to the hotel’s gym, or even spend some time pampering themselves with the wellness services offered by Ohla.

The Rooms

The Essential Rooms are classic-looking, with a double bed, sofa chair, and desk, along with the usual bathroom amenities.

The Design Rooms have a very unique characteristic, merging the bedroom and bathroom into one single space.

The Design Deluxe Rooms are very similar to the Design Rooms, offering a couple more square meters.

The prices of the rooms start at around 190€, going up to the 300€ range during the high seasons.

The Suites

Starting at the lowest range of the scale, the Junor Suites are decorated with gray and pastel tones, complete with a double bed and a comfortable lounge sofa.

The Junior Suite Deluxe goes a step further, offering the guests a larger space and access to other amenities like a Nespresso coffee machine and a designer bathtub and rain shower.

The Dome Suite is the perfect choice for those who want to want to get that apartment-feel while still staying at a hotel. This suite is divided into 2 floors, one focused on resting, containing the bed and the bathroom, and the other focused on leisure and work, containing the lounge area and a large table that can be used either for work or for meals.

The cream of the crop at the Ohla Barcelona is the Penthouse Suite, which occupies the entire top floor of the hotel. This suite contains two double bedrooms, a living room and dining/work room, as well as a terrace from which you can enjoy wonderful views of the city.

The prices of the suites start in the lower 200s, and can go up all the way up to the 400€ range during the high season.

Location

Ohla Barcelona is located at Via Laietana, 49, next to Palau de la Música Catalana, and just a couple of minutes away from Plaza Catalunya and the upscale Passeig de Gràcia.
