Barcelona is the perfect city to find fresh, delicious Mediterranean food. While Mediterranean cuisine includes foods from countries like Spain, Italy, and Greece, these flavors are unique and universally pleasing for all. There are many restaurants in Barcelona that serve up fresh Mediterranean, so here are some of the best.

Petit Pau can be found not far from Plaça Espanya, near the Hostafrancs Metro stop (Line 1). From Tuesday-Saturday you can visit this Mediterranean eatery, but make sure to book in advance since this restaurant is quite small and doesn’t seat many at a time. All of the seafood is fresh and savory but the octopus is especially notable. In addition to the seafood, Petit Pau also serves a wide variety of grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and of course scrumptious desserts. Best of all, the prices are moderate for the quality and quantity that you will receive. This restaurant has also been noted for having a friendly and reliable staff, so you know that you will be in good hands when you visit!

If you book a rental in this neighborhood, it’s a beautiful place to explore, right off of Gran Vía. The focus of the menu is traditional Catalan cooking that has been updated and modernized, resulting in fantastic flavors that are reminiscent of grandma’s cooking. A lot of thought is out into pairing delicious wines with each plate, ensuring that you have the best culinary experience possible. Some of the most popular dishes include canelons, grilled vegetables, and grilled tuna and beef. Be sure to book in advance as this restaurant is in high demand!

Napa

Napa is right in the heart of Eixample, steps away from Avinguda Diagonal. This restaurant is Mediterranean cuisine that has been influenced with classic California flavors, giving it a unique twist and separating it from the rest of the Med restaurants in Barcelona. You can choose to share tapas amongst your group at nighttime and during the day you can try the menú del día for €12.50 (Monday-Friday). You can try some Mediterranean classic dishes like scallops, pork shoulder, and calamari, or opt for the California side with things like hummus and guacamole.
