Mecal Air presents: Mecal Rooftop Barcelona
Written by Paula

While the hot summer days guide people towards the beach or air-conditioned areas, the warm summer nights invite locals and visitors to stay up until later, enjoying a drink, a dinner with friends or a nice long stroll.

If you have been wanting to spend more time outside at night but don’t know what to do, why not try some open air cinema with Mecal?

Mecal Air

Mecal Air is an international short film and animation festival that happens each year in Barcelona at Plaça del Baluard in Poble Espanyol.

Each session allows the viewers to experience cinema and music in a wonderful setting in the mountain of Montjuic.

This year the festival is presenting something new: Mecal Rooftop, an event taking place every Thursday at Hotel Sliken Diagonal’s rooftop. Mecal Rooftop began its weekly sessions in June and will last until the beginning of September.

Each week the event has a different theme. Some of the next themes include Anti-hero special, Sooo 80’s, Japan!, Gangsters, Comedy, Creative advertising, Horror, Back to the future and Best of Summer.
