Federal Café

They were one of the first to open up an international café in this area of Barcelona. Sant Antoni may be now hipster territory, full of trendy and colourful cafés and shops, but Federal still keeps a high standard, especially in brunch.

The spaces has 3 floors and a small terrace with an open bar. The burgers are delicious, the eggs, the juices, the milkshakes… And after that, you can’t miss a piece of cake, they are superb!

It’s usually packed at the weekends, but they have recently opened another café in the Gotic area.

Hotel Barceló Raval

Hotel Barceló Raval offers a brunch deal on Sundays: 25€ everything included. This luxury hotel offers a brunch buffet with different areas: salads, omelettes, sweet area with croissants, toasts, sandwiches, cakes…

The deal also includes Benedict or Florentine eggs and a cocktail. There’s also a DJ playing music and the best part is that, when you finish, you can go up to their 360º degrees terrace and enjoy the views of the city!

OMA Bistro

OMA Bistro is a new cafe is in a very nice corner in Eixample, with large windows looking out on a church. It’s beautifully decorated, bare brick walls with vintage items and even a bike!

As usual, the eggs are really good, as the sandwiches and the cakes, all accompanied by refreshing juices, milkshakes, good coffee or beer.

It’s also a bit crowded at brunch hour at the weekends so… be patient (or be early!).

Granja Petit Bo

Located in the peaceful Passeig de Sant Joan in what used to be a dairy store, Granja Petit Bo is also a trendy café nicely decorated with vintage touches. Not only is the space beautiful and full of light, the brunch menu is really worth it.

The eggs and the juices are amazing, and you can always finish with a delicious piece of cake or pancakes. The place fills up quickly at the weekends, so take it into account!

Citizen Café

You wouldn’t believe Citizen Café is so quiet and nice in a such an ugly and noisy square (Urquinaona square). The space is comfy and full of nice details (books, paintings, suitcases) although it lacks a bit of natural light on the inside.

Excellent casseroles with eggs, sandwiches, and toasts accompanied with juice or a cocktail (try mimosa, a classic in Catalan brunch, cava and orange juice).

Two secrets: one savory and one sweet, don’t miss the fried green tomatoes and the pancakes!
