As we leave another winter season behind, we welcome the warm breeze of spring. The perfect weather to enjoy eating along Barcelona’s 32km of beaches. Lines of beachside restaurants and chiringuitos (beach huts) offer gourmet food alongside a relaxed beachside ambience.

Here is a list of the best beachside restaurants in Barcelona.

CDLC

CDLC is a beachside restaurant that offers an Oriental-Mediterranean fusion. Enjoy the food while sitting on the terrace relishing the sun rays and the perfect view of the Mediterranean. Their Buddhist decor provides a soothing and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a fun afternoon with friends. Stay late and experience an evening of great cocktails, DJ, and an amazing dance floor.

Can Maño

If you are looking for quality seafood and authentic Spanish-Catalan tapas, I suggest you head to Can Maño. I must warn you, it looks like a hole-in-the-wall but don’t the most authentic places do. Their fresh catches create lines of people out the door waiting to be served. Grab a beer as you wait, your patience will be rewarded. Many people describe it as a five-star seafood restaurant that is actually affordable.

Bar Jordi

A little ways from the tourist beachfront restaurants, but still within Barcelonetta, you will find Bar Jordi. It is the perfect pitstop to make after a long day at the beach. Drop in for a minute to refresh yourself with their selection of cocktails, wine, and draught beer. Or take a look at their exquisite tapas menu and stay for hours. Sit inside to hide from the sun or continue catching some rays on their notorious barrel tables. You are bound to have a great time.

Segons Mercat

Segons Mercat’s specialities are seafood and tapas. It offers an elegant atmosphere, with a creative menu to compliment its style. Eduard Roca, the head chef, has created a quality and innovating menu for everyone to enjoy. You must try the paella pan of gamba-stacked fideua. This is the Catalan version of paella. You can thank me later.

Pez Vela Chiringuito

Pez Vela is a part of the Chiriguito styled restaurants. Chiriguitos are beach styled hut restaurants that open in the spring and fall. The perfect seasons with perfect weather to enjoy amazing seafood along the beach. Pez Vela menu focuses on paellas, fresh tapas, and salads. But do not hesitate to ask for their freshly caught fish of the day or ox chops.
