How to enjoy barcelona in such a short space of time

Barcelona travelling
Written by James

Don’t have a great deal of time available to be able to explore Barcelona to its fullest? For those of you who have, say, only 6 hours to spare there is plenty you can still do and see in this amazing city. In this article, I aim to provide you with details of which attractions you should consider visiting during your time in the city.

Tourist Bus BarcelonaWhen it comes to getting around and to ensure that you really get the best views of everything is, of course, to hop on one of the tour buses. As you’ll find like other major cities there are a number of different bus tours available. There are three different routes you can take and each one covers a different part of the city. The great thing about these tours is that you can get on and off whenever you want.

However, if you would prefer your tour to be a little more intimate and don’t have a great deal of money to spend why not enjoy one of the many walking tours on offer. These are not only free but also allow you the opportunity to explore parts of the city that you would otherwise miss. You’re sure to come across some hidden gems during this tour that only the locals are aware of. Although these tours are free, if you are happy with the service provided by your guide then tipping them wouldn’t go amiss.

Sagrada FamiliaIf you are feeling a little peckish then there are plenty of amazing places to eat. One particular place you may want to consider trying that offers really amazing Spanish cuisine is Meson David. The atmosphere isn’t only fantastic but the food is really delicious.

Of all the attractions worth a visit during your short time in Barcelona then I would highly recommend that you visit Sagrada Familia. However, because it is such a popular attraction rather than standing around in queue to view it, booking your tickets online before you go would be a great idea.

The great thing is even though you may be only spending a few hours in the city there are plenty of great attractions to enjoy for free. For example, during the week you will often find that most of the city’s top museums will allow visitors to enter for free. A quick visit to their website will tell you exactly what days these are.
