If you’re in Barcelona during the winter months and you are a skiing or snowboarding fan, for sure that this information about the skiing tracks and resorts closest to the city will be very useful. Make your stay memorable by staying in one of our long term rental apartments in Barcelona, and enjoy the spectacular Spanish snowy landscapes.

Baqueira Beret: this ski resort is ocated in the Pyrenees, in the province of Lleida, in particular in the Aran Valley. It is one of the most important and crowded resorts of Spain because its high quality snow and the heavy snowfalls due to its location in the northern part of the mountain. The quality of the pre-and post-skiing services is much better out from the other tracks, which makes that a lot of celebrities and rich people as the king of Spain, choose Baqueira Beret to spend their winter holidays. Their ski-lifts are surrounded by peaks over than 3000 meters high and lush forests that favours the conservation of the snow.

La Molina Masella: these two stations have a total of 111 km of slopes and are linked by lifts, therefore users can enjoy both facilities with the same pass. They are located in the region of Cerdanya and are, by tradition, the most appreciated by the Catalan fans of winter sports. La Molina is famous for its social activity and its wide range of ski and snowboarding courses for beginners. From the Masella we can see the whole Cerdanya valley, the largest in the Pyrenees.

Boí Taüll: This ski resort is located in the Natural Park of Aigues Tortes, specifically in the Boi Valley in the province of Lleida (Pallars Sobirà). It is the highest and the newest resort in the Pyrenees (with an elevation of 2750 meters, was opened in 1990), but it is small and has no accommodation for a relaxing break. Another major attraction is the environment in which these tracks are located, surrounded by villages with beautiful Romanesque buildings, and the wide range of leisure and other activities to do (golf, tennis, soccer, etc..).

Spot Esquí Parc: also in the natural environment of Aigues Tortes, in the town of Spot (Lleida), right next to Baqueira, these tracks are for more advanced skiers or snowboarders. If you want to run away from the overcrowded Catalan ski-resorts or enjoy skiing with the family this is the perfect place. Spot Esquí Parc is characterized by lush forests full od black pines, for its beautiful views, the quality of its snow and for hosting all kind of winter sports competitions in their professional tracks.

Port del Comte:  this ski-resort is divided into two sectors, Sucre is the main one, and the Estivella. It is located in the Pre-Pyrenees, in the Lord Valley (Lleida), and is the nearest ski-resort to Barcelona (about 150km). In recent years the Port del Comte facilities have been greatly improved thanks to large investments and, besides skiing and snowboarding, activities that can be done at it are countless (zip line, trampolines, hiking, paragliding, golf, etc..) so it is an ideal location to spend a few days with the family. Most of its tracks run through a pine forest with plenty of links and paths, which makes each slope special.

Vall de Núria: is one of the most familiar and welcoming resorts of all for its excellent services. Núria Valley is located in Queralbs, in Girona province, at a height of 2000 meters, and is easily accessible by the Núria railway. The railway offers incredible views! Their tracks are low and medium difficulty level, so they are ideal for children who are learning how to ski. It is located in Rialp, in the Lleida Pyrenees, at the foot of the Pic de l’Orri (2440 meters), and almost all its slopes are north-facing, which allows you to enjoy the deserved reputation of having the best snow of all stations in the Pyrenees. It is aimed at a familiar audience and beginner skiers and snowboarders.
