Shopping on Las Ramblas

Nowhere in the city do you get that Barcelona buzz more than when walking down Las Ramblas. The broad tree-lined boulevard takes you from Plaça Catalunya for about 1.2 km down to the Port Vell area.

No matter what you’re in the mood for, Las Ramblas has something to offer you. In the iconic art nouveau buildings that line Las Ramblas, you’ll find restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, theaters, art galleries, shops, and hotels.

El Corte Inglés

At the top of Las Ramblas, near the Plaça Catalunya metro station, you’ll find Barcelona’s answer to Selfridges or Macy’s.

One of the biggest and oldest department stores in Barcelona, El Corte Inglés offers classic Spanish charm which creates an elegant, yet down to earth shopping experience.

There are several El Corte Inglés in this area. The one at Las Ramblas focuses mainly on selling clothes, while the one across Plaça Catalunya offers perfume, clothes, jewelry, and cosmetics.

If you need a pharmacy, an optician, or your shoes repaired, El Corte Inglés has got you covered. Need a foreign exchange service? They’ve got that too.

And if you’re feeling hungry after all that, slide down to El Gourmet Club, the store’s luxury delicatessen area or pick up a tin of beans at the supermarket.
