Record Shopping in Barcelona

Written by Gill

Barcelona’s fantastic music scene is reflected in its record shops. If you love your vinyl, the city has plenty to offer from rare disco to huge ranges of rock records. Here are our favourite record shops to while away a few hours thumbing through the sleeves.

Discos Paradiso

Discos ParadisoOwned by DJ and music lover, Gerrard, Discos Paradiso is a labour of love. Great range including lots of cool new releases. Check out the polaroid gallery on the wall to see some of the shop’s famous customers.

Discos Impacto

Located in record shop heavy El Raval, Discos Impacto is a long standing favourite with Barcelona’s record collectors. For over 20 years the shop has provided a great, well organised range of pop, rock, soul, funk, disco and house from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Ultra-Local Records

This place is a Poble-Nou gem. A great range of vinyl from all genres, spanning most Catalan labels, plus in-store performances make Ultra-Local Records one for locals and not-so-locals alike.

ForDaily Records rock music lovers, Barcelona has lots to offer, both Revólver Records and Daily Records specialize in rock and heavy metal. You may well find the odd album from other genres but these places specialize in rock, old and new. Discos Revolver is a treasure trove with plenty of old and rare records for your collection. They participate in Record Store Day too so you can grab those special releases each year.

Wah Wah Records

Opened in 1992, Wah Wah Records in Raval prides itself on stocking the vinyl gems you’re unlikely to find in other shops. Split into two zones, the shops has a ‘classics’ section where you’ll find music from all genres through the ages and then at the back they have an electronic section for DJs.

The Apolo Store

record barcelonaSituated by the club, the Apolo Store may not be the place to spend hours poring over rare vintage vinyl but it is a great shop nonetheless. It has a great range of records plus merchandise, books and other great music related products. As a great bonus to customers, if you buy something from the store, you get to put it (and anything else you’re lugging around) into a locker if you’re heading into the venue that evening.

These recommendations only scratch the surface of for record shoppers in Barcelona. Wander around Raval and you’ll stumble across a plethora of record shops just waiting to be rummaged through. Happy shopping!
