Great gifts for frikis – Part II

Nerds and geeks. Words that refer to those with a particular liking and sometimes even expertise about a certain topic, usually of a Sci-Fi or Fantasy nature. You may have never heard the word “friki” before, as it is the Spanish version of “nerds/geeks”. It is not a derogatory term but rather a trendy way to refer to those who may just be great fans of a certain TV show or movie.

I have already named a variety of items that would make great gifts for friki people in your life on my previous Great gifts for frikis article. Here are more suggestions.

Books

Anything by J. R. R. Tolkien or George R. R. Martin is probably already part of most frikis’ shelves. But that doesn’t mean you can’t give them other books related to their favorite books or movies, like the illustrated guide for all of The Hobbit’s movies or the Comic Book version of Game of Thrones. Other fun books for frikis include Marvel’s Superhero Encyclopedia, Game of Thrones coloring, Darth Vader and son, C. Montgomery Burns’ Handbook of World Domination, or anything by Stephen Hawking, Steve Jobs, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett or Carl Sagan. Where can you find these books? Costumes

Want to see the friki in your life dressed in full Spock costume? How about wearing Frodo’s cape? Then pay a visit to Norma Comics, where you can find a variety of costumes and accessories like the ring, from Lord of the Rings, the pin from The Hunger Games, and even wands from the Harry Potter saga.

Comics

If the friki in your life doesn’t take the time to sit and read, you can always ease him into the world of reading by giving him or her a comic book. There are tons of themes, characters and sagas to choose from. Superman, Batman, Pokémon, Poussy, Death Row, there is something for every type of friki out there. You can find comics at Fnac, Norma Comics, Arkham Comics, and Continuará.

Dolls and Action Figures

If you are a great fan of a book, movie, TV show or comic, imagine how cool it would be to be able to hold one of the main characters in your hands. Stores like Fnac, Continuará, Norma Comics and Casa del Llibre sell tons of cool figures like the red and white rocket from Tin Tin, Charlie Brown, Chewbacca plushes, Walter White bobble heads and more.
