Barcelona, Leading City Of Luxury Brands

Written by Allison

Barcelona has now begun to gain a reputation as being one of Europe’s top cities when it comes to fashion. Certainly, it is starting to give cities such as Milan, London, Madrid and Paris a run for their money.

Throughout the city, there is no shortage of designer and mainstream stores where luxury goods can be purchased. In fact, it has become a shoppers paradise and if you want to bag some real bargains then make sure you visit the city when the country’s two annual sales take place. The first is the winter sale that begins on the 6th January and goes on through until the end of February or the summer sale that begins in the middle of June and finishes at the end of August. Throughout these sales, you can really bag some great deals with shops offering discounts between 50 and 75% on their goods.

There are certain areas of Barcelona that are better than others for shopping. The best areas to go to in search of luxury brands are located throughout the city and include the following:

Portal de l’Àngel

This particular shopping area is located just off Plaça de Catalunya and as you wander along it, you’ll find stores that are selling the most exclusive fashion brands.

Plaça de Sant Josep Oriol

The streets that make up this particular shopping area is usually filled with painters, street musicians, and fortune tellers. However what you will really have come for are the designer boutiques that line it and where you’ll definitely be tempted into making a purchase.

Avinguda Diagonal

This is where to come if you are looking for luxury brands created by international fashion houses. Shops here include Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Gucci and Gianni Versace.

El Bulevard Rosa

When the weather isn’t so great then this is the perfect place to head to. Within this indoor arcade, there is more than 100 shops and is located in the very heart of the city’s Barri Gotic district. Again you’ll find a good selection of boutiques in this building that sell a good selection of luxury brand items.

Luxury Brands 2

El Born

If you are in the market for something a little more unusual then this is a part of Barcelona you should be heading to. Luxury brands may not be so prevalent but you are sure to find some really unusual and unique items of clothing that your friends will want to know where you got them from. After spending the morning shopping here head over to Passeig de Born where you find several great bars and restaurants where you can enjoy some great food and drinks whilst you rest your aching feet.

Passeig de Gràcia

If you are looking for luxury Italian brands then this is a part of Barcelona you need to head to. Just between Passeig de Gràcia and Pau Claris, you’ll find Cherry Heel. This boutique houses some really beautiful items of clothing and accessories.
