Where to listen to classical music in Barcelona

Barcelona is a city that values music as a form of artistic expression, where you can find a number of concert venues to listen to any type of music you prefer. Here are some of Barcelona’s classical music venues.

L’Auditori 

Founded in 199, L’Auditori is one of the newest music venues in Barcelona and the city’s Music Museum. Home of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the Barcelona Symphony Band, L’Auditori offers a series of concerts and musical events by Spanish and international artists.

L’Auditory is located at Carrer de Lepant, 150.

Palau de la Música Catalana

An important piece of the Catalan Modernism, Palau de la Música Catalana was designed by Lluís Domenèch I Montaner and built between 1905 and 1908. This gorgeous building was declared World Heritage by UNESCO due to its original and innovative architecture. Palau de la Música Catalana offers a rich monthly program that includes classical music concerts.

Palau de la Música Catalana is located at Carrer Palau de la Música 4-6.

Reial Acadèmia Catalana de las Belles Artes de Sant Jordi 

The Reial Acadèmia Catalana de las Belles Artes de Sant Jordi was founded in 1775 as a painting, sculpture and architecture school. Today the institution works mainly as a place to practice and strengthen the investigation of Fine Arts in Catalonia. The Reial Acadèmia Catalana de las Belles Artes de Sant Jordi organizes classical music concerts from time to time.

Reial Acadèmia Catalana de las Belles Artes de Sant Jordi is located at Passeig Isabel II, 1.

Gran Teatro del Liceu

Created in 1847, Gran Teatro del Liceu is the oldest theater and opera house in Barcelona. It is the most popular venue in Barcelona for Opera, but it also receives ballet performers, orchestras and classical music artists.

Gran Teatro del Liceu is located at Las Ramblas, 51-59.

Sant Pau del Camp 

Sant Pau del Camp is a church and former monastery located in the neighborhood of Raval, one of the few Romanic buildings that still exist in Barcelona. The church receives classical music concerts twice a week, with programs like Bach in Barcelona

Sant Pau del Camp church is located at Carrer Sant Pau, 101.

Iglesia de Santa Anna

Another church and former monastery, Santa Anna’s Church is host of many classical guitar concerts. It is a beautiful place to visit during the day, and a wonderful setting for music shows at night.

Iglesia de Santa Ana is located at Carrer de Santa Anna, 29.
