Discover Vall de Núria

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a couple of days, consider escaping to Vall de Núria. Located in the municipality of Queralbs, Vall de Núria is a beautiful valley at the bottom of the Pyrenees.

This area is considered a valuable natural heritage by its inhabitants and surrounding regions, which is why they make it a top priority to conserve and improve the valley’s environment. All human activity in Vall de Núria operates with energy saving measures and waste sorting.  There have even been implementations of water quality improvement measures and preservation of the land layout.

A special place for those who want to explore Catalonia while having a relaxing time, Vall de Núria offers not only stunning views but also a series of activities. There is canoeing or boating in the lake; a minigolf course with 10 holes of different difficulties; archery lessons combined with woodland tours; trekking excursions for beginners and experienced trekkers;  45-minute guided tours to the most unique places in the Valley; horse riding tours; orienteering workshops and circuits; a farm where visitors can learn about the animals; and a virtual race.

There are also activities for children like pony riding; nature workshops; recycling workshops; storytelling workshops; excursions around the valley; gardening workshops; and more. These activities are offered for free for guests staying at the Vall de Núria hotel or apartments.

During your nature trip, you can visit the valley’s Interpretation Center, where you can learn about the history and beginning of the resort. You can also visit the Rack Railway exhibition, the Vall de Núria’s buildings exhibition, and the Shepherd exhibition.

Vall de Núria is a great place to visit during the winter since it is a famous ski resort with 10 alpine ski lanes and a special slope for sleighs, totaling 7 kilometers. The resort is equipped with 73 snow cannons, one chair lift, two platter lifts and one gondola lift.

Before ending your visit, be sure to stop the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Núria and learn about the tale of the Virgin of Núria.

This secluded location is not accessible by car, as there are no roads to the valley. The only way to reach it is by foot or, for those who are not experienced hikers, by rack railway.

If you would like to visit Vall de Núria, be sure to check out their website where you can browse all their promotions and seasonal offers.
