Freshen up! Best swimming pools in Barcelona

Barcelona is heating up and people are looking for ways to stay cool. Having a scoop of ice cream, eating fresh fruit or having an ice-cold drink are great ways to lower your body temperature. But if you feel like spending your day in the water, why not try a visit to one of the cities various pools?

Llac de la Creueta de la Coll

Located at Passeig Mare de Déu del Coll, 77, Parc de la Creueta del Coll has a lake surrounded by palm trees that turns into a public swimming pool during summer. Here you can rent sunshades, hammocks, chairs and canoes. The ticket to the park costs 2,35€ or 1,35€ after 18h.

The best way to get to Parc de la Creueta del Coll is by taking the blue line (L5) of the subway and exiting at El Coll|La Teixonera.

Llac de Can Dragó

Part of Eurofitness’ sports complex, of Llac de Can Dragó  is the biggest swimming pool in Barcelona. Enjoy the cool water and then set a towel on the grass, lying down with a nice book or magazine while you tan.

You can find Eurofitness Can Dragó at Carrer de Rosselló i Porcel, 7-11. The best way to get there is by taking the red line (L1) of the subway, exiting at Sant Andreu.

Can Caralleu

Can Caralleu is a sports club in Collserola Park, surrounded by a beautiful pine tree forest. The club has two outdoor swimming pools that can be visited from Monday to Tuesday from 7 am to 11 pm, Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm, Sundays and holidays from 8 am to 4 pm.

Can Caralleu is located at Calle de los Deportes 2-8 in the barrio of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. The best way to get there is by train, taking the S1 (orange) or S2 (green) line and exiting at Peu del Funicular.

Torre de les Aigües

This swimming pool is actually known as “The beach of Eixample”, since the gardens usually turn into a small beach during the summer. This pool usually sought out by people with small children, since it’s only half a meter deep.

Tickets cost 1,55€ for the general public. Children can enter free of charge.

Torre de les Aigües is located at Roger de Llúria, number 56. The best way to get there is to take the yellow line (L4) of the subway, exiting at Girona.
