Discover the best music festival in Barcelona

The Primavera Sound music festival takes place in Barcelona between the end of May and the beginning of June. Its first edition was in 2001 at the location of Pueblo Español, on the mountain of Montjuïc. Since 2005 the new place to celebrate the event is the Parc del Fòrum. The terrain is larger and it is right next to the sea. Primavera Sound is an urban and cosmopolitan festival with a great variety of singers and bands, and it has become a meeting point for excellent artists and spectators of all ages. It is one of the most important festivals in Spain, together with Mad Cool Madrid, FIB Benicasim, Festival Arte-Nativo Viña Rock Villarrobledo and BBK Live Bilbao. The objective of the festival is to serve as a podium for emerging talent, but also for established artists who already have a longer history in music, and it may be of any style or genre, but always of a certain quality. Mostly it is pop, rock and some electronic music and dance. Parallel to this music festival in Barcelona, also Primavera Pro takes place, an international event aimed at professionals in the music industry, that since its first edition in 2010 has become an international reference for independent music. Its programming features talks, conferences, workshops, showcases and meetings, which take place during the day and form part of the Day Pro Conference. And then there is the exclusive Night Pro area, also within the Parc del Fòrum site, which hosts a stage in which they can present themselves. There are new groups and bands from every participating country.

This year the program, as always, is varied and highly recommended. Let’s start with the music performances by Miley Cyrus, Rosalia, Cristina Rosenvinge and La Zowi. And what about Solange and Suede? The event takes place from May 30 to June 1 in 2019 at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, and if you want to join the terrific atmosphere, ​​you take a shuttle bus from Plaza Cataluña, or bus lines H16, H14, 7, 136, V31, 143, N6 or N7, tram line T4, metro line L4, and of course you can always rely on a taxi or the Bicing to get you there.
