Water activities in the Catalan Olympic Canal

In 1992, during the Olympic Games in Barcelona and as a venue for canoeing competitions, Olympic Canal was constructed in Castelldefels, a coastal town at about 20 km from Barcelona. Since then this artificial canal on the marshes of the Llobregat river and 1,200 meters long, has continued to grow into one of the largest sports complexes in Europe. Now that the warm weather arrives to Barcelona, there’s no better place to go to practice your favorite water sports than to the Olympic Canal.

These facilities have the central canal track with calm waters, where you can practice and do canoeing courses, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, or hire a boat and stroll through this canal. They have a wide range of courses for all levels and suitable for all ages and dates of the year. To give you an idea, no signed users can do courses of all kinds (canoeing, windsurfing or sailing on an individual boat called Optimist) for 82 €/8 hours or water skiing courses for 46€/10 trips in 5 days. There are also activities for children such as Baby Ski.

Furthermore, within the facilities you will also find a fitness place, or practice kayaking, biking, skating, archery, and pitch & putt. To do all these activities less pitch & putt, you must sign in the facilities paying the full fee or paying daily, monthly, or hourly tickets. If you want to practice pitch & putt (similar to golf) into one of the most impressive and difficult greens in Catalonia and test your skills, you can also do so within the Olympic Canal facilities. There are courses for both children and adults that include all necessary materials, or simply go to the 9-hole course in this perfect environment, from Tuesday to Saturday between 9am and 9pm, or Sundays and holidays from 9am to 8pm. The other facilities are open 365 days a year, Monday to Friday from 7am to 11pm or Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8am to 10pm.

One of the most interesting proposals to companies is the team building activity. Its main objective is to strengthen the ties between working team members. This proposal includes a series of physical events and games according to the preferences of each group, to promote team spirit and encourage team members to create strong relationships.

Summing up, if you want to have fun, to learn, to get fit, or to spend an unforgettable day with your whole family this summer, you should go to the Olympic Canal! If you are living in a ShBarcelona rental apartment your stay would be perfect.
