Enjoy Sweet November In Barcelona

As soon as the weather starts to change, you’ll notice that the menus in most cafes, restaurants and bars throughout Barcelona have begun to change. This is because they like to use the foods that are readily available, rather than looking to use foods that need to be imported. However, at these time of the year (November) sales of hot chocolate seem to be on the increase.

There are numerous places around Barcelona known as “granjas” where you spend your time relaxing and enjoying a cup or two this delicious tasting beverage. Certainly when it comes to finding places to enjoy hot chocolate in Barcelona you are going to find yourself spoilt for choice.

If you are intending to visit Barcelona any time soon then the best places to go and enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate are as follows:

1. La Pallaresa

This particular granjas is to be found in the city’s Gothic Quarter and avoid visiting in the evening or at weekends, as you could find yourself having to wait to get a seat. This is because the locals love to spend hours here dunking churros into their cups of this beverage made from Swiss chocolate. If you want to be really decadent then make sure you opt for a cup where it has been topped off with some whipped cream.

2. La Nena

Just like La Pallaresa however, this particular Granja Xocolateria is to be found in the Gracia district of Barcelona. One advantage to visiting this particular one is that you won’t find so many queues so you won’t have to wait as long to get a seat. However, if you aren’t up for a cup of hot chocolate there serve a good selection of teas here as well.

3. Buenas Migas

This cafe chain throughout the winter months not just throughout November offers up several different options when it comes to hot chocolate. A couple of theirs you may want to consider trying when you do decide to visit them is either the “xocolata am galetes” which is hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and cookies or its “xocolata suïssa” this particular beverage isn’t only topped with whipped cream but also chocolate syrup.

Certainly, when it comes to visiting Barcelona you are going to find yourself spoilt for choice when it comes to enjoying a cup or two of this delicious but sweet beverage. However don’t just limit yourself to trying out the ones I recommend above, why not see what others you can find and test a few of these out as well. If you are worried about all the calories you are going to be consuming during your visit don’t be, because you can work these off by exploring the many places of interest that this amazing city has to offer.
