Girona is a city situated in the northern part of Catalonia on the French border.  Located 98 kilometers away from Barcelona, Girona stands on its own as a vibrant city of immense culture, Catalonian tradition, medieval architecture, and an exciting nightlife.

Known as one of the most intriguing cities in Catalonia, Girona has more than 2,000 years of history under its belt. There you can see the Força Vella, an ancient Roman fortress constructed to protect the city.  Other highlights of the city are the Jewish Quarter, the Arab Baths and the Medieval Quarter.

With all of the diverse sights Girona has to offer you would imagine the city to be just as large or close to the size of Barcelona, but in fact, it is only 39.1 Km2.

Art festivals are always going on in Girona.  The Flower, Guitar and Amateur Theatre Festival are among the events that are highly anticipated by the locals. Girona’s city council is known for promoting the arts in the city, which makes it a great destination place for up and coming artists in Spain to go to gain recognition and support for their work.
