Barcelona is a rich, vibrant, cultured and eclectic city. There is plenty here to discover. But it isn’t necessarily the ideal place for relaxing, particularly during the summer when swathes of tourists fill the streets, beaches and parks. Fortunately, Barcelona’s situation in Catalonia, a land rich in natural beauty and charm, makes it easy for a trip out of town to find nature and relaxation. There is a lot to discover. One particularly beautiful and somewhat secret gem of natural beauty and tranquillity is the Foradada waterfall in Cantonigros.
This is a dreamy haven of tranquillity, making it a perfect way to disconnect from the Barcelona crowds. The fact it isn’t so simple to find makes it all the more of an adventure. And who doesn’t like an adventure?!

If you go in spring or summer, you can enjoy a refreshing swim, although bear in mind it is a popular place to visit in the summer. For a more tranquil experience it may be best to go in the spring.
