Casa Fuster was built in 1908 buy the legendary Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner who was one of the most important architects at the time, who helped to progress and develop Modernism in Barcelona. Casa Fuster was commissioned as a gift from its benefactor to his wife, and at one time was considered to be the most expensive home in Barcelona. The intention was to create a great house that would not only serve as a gift but also increase the aesthetic appeal of the city. Today, it is one of the most important designer hotels in the city because of its history, high-quality construction, and unique design.

In 2000, the chain of hotels by the name of Hoteles Center bought Casa Fuster, with the intention of turning it into a luxury hotel located on one of Barcelona’s most glamorous streets. Great care was taken to insure that while the house was updated and remodeled into a hotel, it still retained its original vision and and design. Four years later, Casa Fuster was open for business as a state-of-the-art hotel, offering the highest quality experience to its clientele. The hotel retains the original design on the outside and it has also kept some artistic details intact on the inside.
