Venues in Barcelona where classical music lovers can go

There are plenty of wonderful activities on offer that visitors to the city of Barcelona can enjoy. However, in this post, we intend to look at what the options are for those who love classical music and would like to attend a recital or a concert during their stay in one of the many hotels or apartments that the capital of the Catalan region has to offer.

One of the main places where you can go to enjoy classical music concerts in all its guises is the Gran Teatro del Liceu, located at Las Rambla 51-59. This amazing monument to Baroque architect retains all of its ornate and sublime décor and takes you back to the early part of the last century.

The next location we recommend which is very different from Liceu is L’Auditori. This can be found on Carrer de Lepant and is a very modern building completed in 1999. It covers a total of 42,000 square meters and hosts a variety of different musical events throughout the year including several classical music ones. Before construction commenced on this building a study was carried and this has helped to ensure that the acoustics inside the building is among the best in the city, in fact, it helps to make it especially suitable for concerts where big bands or orchestras will be playing.

Next, we come to Palau de la Música Catalana on Palau Music. This is, without doubt, the most well known of all venues where classical music events take place. The modernist design of this building offers you a truly unforgettable experience along with the quality of the performances that take place within this unique building.

This venue is located in Barcelona’s Born district and each month a program has been created that exclusively caters to classical music fans. It is also where performances by the Catalan Choral Society take place. Along with the main hall that is able to seat 2,100 people, there are a number of other rooms within the building such as the Board Petit Palau, which are used for more modest, but equally as good concerts.
