For yet another year, it is possible for you to enjoy the series of concerts called M\u00fasica en los Parques<\/strong> (Music in the Parks), which aims to promote the gardens<\/strong><\/a> and parks in the city of Barcelona as communal leisure areas during sunsets and summer evenings. Groups of young performers have been selected for their quality and professionalism, and they play a key role during the classical and jazz concerts that will take place, in order for everyone to be able to enjoy the best music in public parks.<\/p>\n

In a city like the Catalan capital, its green spaces function as its lungs<\/strong><\/a>. So besides obviously being an area for leisure and recreational activities, they contribute by regulating temperatures and reducing environmental noise, and at the same time you will also find many varieties of flora and fauna here.<\/p>\n

To improve knowledge of social and environmental benefits of parks<\/a> <\/strong>and gardens, guided park tours<\/strong> will be available prior to this year\u2019s concerts, which will show you all the park’s details and characteristics. This enables every visitor to learn more about its history, and to better understand its biodiversity and interesting facts of these sites. One of these parks is Parque de las Gl\u00f2ries<\/strong><\/a>, and it will host two concerts<\/strong>. This is the best opportunity for you to get to know this brand new park in the city. The closing concert of the series will take place at the popular and famous Park G\u00fcell<\/strong><\/a>, one of the most emblematic \u2013 and most touristic \u2013 parks in Barcelona, and here you can enjoy music, while being surrounded by an architectural heritage site and beautiful nature.<\/p>\n

This series of summer concerts started for the first time 24 years<\/strong> ago, with the idea of making good quality music available for everyone, but also encouraging young and upcoming performers to show their talent. Additionally, it hopes to make people more aware of a park\u2019s possibilities<\/strong><\/a>, as it can be the perfect place to hang out and spend some time together, especially during sunsets and summer evenings, when there is a lovely summer breeze that creates a magical atmosphere.<\/p>\n

This series of free summer concerts<\/strong> in the city’s gardens and parks is organised by the Barcelona City Council<\/strong>, in collaboration with districts and other municipal organisations, and different styles of music will be performed, including classical music and jazz. During the series there will be a concert every week until August 30<\/strong>, and on this last day a closing concert ends the event.
