In China the lunisolar calendar is used and the celebrations for the new year begin on the first lunar month and end on the fifteenth day with the Lantern Festival. Millions of people go to their place of origin every year during these dates to celebrate this holiday, full of symbolism and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/magic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>magic<\/strong><\/a>. Although the Chinese New Year begins on <strong>February 5th\u00a0<\/strong>this year, in Barcelona it will be celebrated on <strong>February 2nd<\/strong>, this coming Saturday. <strong>New Year&#8217;s Eve<\/strong> in the Chinese calendar, which in this case takes place on <strong>February 4th<\/strong>, is known as <em><strong>chuxi<\/strong><\/em>. This festival will be full of activities of all kinds and you can learn a little more about the Asian culture and traditions. If you are interested in the Chinese world and its peculiarities, do not miss this party in Barcelona. To start, there will be a <strong>parade<\/strong> on <strong>Saturday February 2nd at 11:30<\/strong>\u00a0and it will begin at the <strong>Estaci\u00f3n del Norte. <\/strong>In\u00a0addition, the <em>Porca de Sant Antoni<\/em> will be the star of the parade and it will arrive with the\u00a0<em>Giant vedete Rosa\u00a0<\/em>at <strong>Paral\u00b7lel<\/strong>, accompanied by her &#8220;special&#8221; friend <em>Armand<\/em> and other Chinese and Catalan figures. But the party does not just stay there. At the <strong>Paseo Llu\u00eds Companys<\/strong> you can taste all the specialties of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shbarcelona.com\/blog\/en\/best-chinese-restaurants-in-barcelona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Chinese food<\/strong><\/a> at the Gastronomic Fair that will take place there from <strong>10:00 am to 8:00 pm<\/strong>.
