Besides the naturally beautiful and enchanting aspects of the holiday season, there are a wide variety of fun Christmas activities that are geared towards children in Barcelona. The offering of activities in Barcelona is always varied and diverse, but once the holidays come to the city these increase even more. There are the Christmas markets that take place in Barcelona and other parts of the province, such as the classic <\/span>Christmas market<\/b><\/a> in <\/span>Santa Ll\u00facia<\/b> in the city\u2019s cathedral plaza, as well as the<\/span> Sagrada Familia market <\/b>that takes place at the feet of Gaud\u00ed\u2019s famous basilica. From these markets to the number of other must-see events, there is no limit to the holiday fun in the city. You can also try out a number of movies and special theater productions in December; this year all the theaters in Spain will be showing the movie <\/span>The Grinch<\/b>, returning to screens for yet another version, and the highly-anticipated <\/span>Return of Mary Poppins <\/b>with Emily Blunt as the lovely protagonist. If you prefer theater to movies, there are also a number of <\/span>children\u2019s shows<\/b><\/a> that especially the youngest children will love. From December 6 to January 6<\/strong> you can enjoy the Christmas classic in Catalan, <\/span>The Little Prince: The Musical<\/b>. You can see it at the <\/span>Barts<\/b> auditorium on <\/span>calle La Perla, 29<\/b> in Barcelona. You can also take your children to see Magia Kids<\/strong> at Teatreneu<\/strong> until January 26. <\/span>Gisela y el Libro M\u00e1gico<\/b> is another alternative, with their famous specialization in Disney and musical songs. The show takes place at <\/span>Teatre Apolo<\/b> from <\/span>December 15 to January 13<\/b>. Another enticing activity this Christmas is <\/span>Caminando entre Dinosaurios<\/b>, a production showing at <\/span>Palau Sant Jordi <\/b>from <\/span>November 29 to December 2<\/b>. For a simple but equally fun option, consider getting a special treat at a chocolate shop in Barcelona. Here you can enjoy delicious classic chocolates, swiss chocolate with nata, ladyfingers and homemade cakes. Overall, highly recommended.
